I play in a private tournament with friends on PokerStars couple times per month. Typically, we allow for two rebuys per player in the first hour and we pay out the top three 50/30/20. Here are three hands from the last two tournaments I played in:
We had 13 players and 12 total rebuys in the last $25 tournament of April. Twenty minutes before the rebuy period was over and with less than a starting stack, I was dealt A-K and ended up all-in pre-flop vs A-A. The flop was bad news for my opponent, Q-J-10. He couldn't summon a K on the turn or the river. A miracle double-up got me back in the tournament. But my luck didn't stop there. With seven players left, I was dealt A-K again. There was a bet and a call that brought a K-x-x flop. My opponent had pocket rockets. But another K on the turn crashed his rockets and turned his chips into dust. I was cracking aces like a Christmas nutcracker would walnuts during the holidays.
