Queen of the Skies

As I type this, I am currently 37,000 feet in the air in a Delta Airbus A320.  But this story is about another aircraft, the Boeing 747.

Playing Poker in Las Vegas

This post is about the first time I played poker in Las Vegas.  To be more specific, it is about one hand from that session that still makes me shake my head when I think about it.

It was May, 2013 and a group of guys flew to Vegas for a bachelor party.  One came from NYC, two from Miami, and six of us from DC.  Well, we flew from Baltimore thanks to a cheap round trip nonstop flight that was under $200.

What's the Chance of That?

In one of the previous posts I mentioned that I was dealt pocket aces and the next two hands someone at the table was also dealt pocket aces!  As I was writing that post, I thought it would be interesting to find out the probability of pocket aces being dealt three hands in a row to any of the ten players at the table.  To make it a challenge, I decided to deal 90,000 hands to ten players!

I have Ay, Ay

I was going thru my old notes and came across a poker session that I thought I had already posted.  I think it's from early April of 2016.  I started my blog right after that and probably just forgot to write it up.  The session is from the Maryland Live! poker room.

I started the session with $200 and worked my stack up to $250-$275 range.

Dover Downs: The Finale

This is the last story from my trips to Dover Downs poker room between August, 2012 and January, 2014.

Dover Diaries: Part 14 - January, 2014

By late August of 2013, Maryland Live poker room was up and running.  This was the main reason I had stopped going to Dover Downs.  I made one more trip in late January to cash-in two small NFL parley tickets my buddy had placed earlier.  And, I wanted to use any comp dollars I had left on my card.
